Shamaine, on the other hand, is cited together with Tetchie Agbayani (Yangaw), Tessie Tomas (100), Snooky Serna (Paupahan) & Gloria Romero (Paupahan) in the Best Movie Supporting Actress of the Year Category. It should be noted that all nominees in this category came from digital features.
It is Kenjie's 2nd nomination for the same role. The first is in the 6th Golden Screen Awards (Enpress) for the Breakthrough Performance by an Actor. The other nominees are Cedric Amit (Ploning), Coke Bolipata (Boses), Fritz Arvie Chavez (Dose), Julian Duque (Boses), Bojong Fernandez (Ploning) & Timothy Mabalot (Brutus).
Golden Screen will have its awarding ceremonies on April 30 while Star Awards will be on May 28.
Ang Lihim ni Antonio is a cautionary coming-of-age tale, gone tragic, of Antonio who is coming into terms with homosexuality. Kenjie essayed the role of Antonio while Shamaine was Tere, the mother who witnessed and killed her son's abuser. Lihim's story was a collaboration between me and Alex Bonife who also wrote the screenplay. Lihim is still considered the highest-grossing digital film shown in Robinsons cinemas.
Congrats Kenjie and Shamaine. Salamat at naging bahagi kayo ng aking maliit na pelikula. Sa Enpress at Star Awards, maraming salamat.
